This is the story of a building, a building that has no real beginning and apparently, has no ending. I'm not quite sure how I came to a place where it was necessary to construct this house but I am sure that it has a lot to do with the reason I have been attempting to create fine art for the last 60 years. All I know is that I awoke one morning, turned to my wife and stated that I was going to build a house out of bottles.
Now I have to explain that for years the drawings and paintings I have produced have been full of off handed humor and whimsey. I am sure that it has to do with trying to offset the damage done growing up in mirthless Arkansas. However, this house was to be a testament to hard work, dedication, light and glass and I was not disappointed on any level.
I hope this site will show that no matter how much work, repetition, continuity and persistence it takes, strange, personal projects like this one can be completed, or at least, have the feel of being completed. Please enjoy the site and please come see us if you are in quaint Carrabelle, Florida
We live here year around and are willing to show you the house and surroundings at any time, just call. Visitors are always welcome
